Every file on FreeCraftSVG is free to download, free to use, and free to sell finished products with. The one thing you may not do is pass the file itself on to someone else.
This page explains exactly what that covers, in plain language, so you don’t have to guess. It’s general information about our own files, not legal advice.
What you may do
- Use our designs for your own craft projects, decorations and gifts
- Make physical products and sell them – shirts, mugs, tumblers, signs, cards, wall art, and anything else you make by hand or by machine
- Make items for clients and paying customers, including custom and made-to-order work
- Sell what you make anywhere you like – a market stall, an Etsy shop, your own site, or a print-on-demand service that produces the physical item for you
- Cut, print, sublimate, heat-press and paint them for yourself, your family and friends
- Resize, recolour and modify them for your own projects
- Use them in a classroom, church group, club or other setting
What you may not do
- Sell or upload the artwork itself as a digital design, on any marketplace
- Resell, share, email, upload or redistribute the files themselves, modified or not
- Include them in a bundle, pack, design library, membership or app of your own
- Claim the artwork as your own creation
- Use them as part of a logo, trademark or brand identity
Can I sell what I make?
Yes. Make things with our designs and sell them – one shirt to a neighbour or a full Etsy shop, it makes no difference to us. You can take on client work with them too. There is no fee, no sales cap, and no attribution required.
The line is simple: sell the thing you made, not the file you were given. A shirt you pressed is yours to sell. The PNG or SVG that went onto it is not yours to pass on, sell, bundle or upload as a design for someone else to use.
Print-on-demand services like Printful or Printify are fine, because they make a physical product for you. Uploading the artwork to a marketplace where other people buy the design itself is not.
Where the licence does not reach
No licence from any SVG site — ours included — can give you the right to use someone else’s intellectual property. That means:
- Characters from films, television or games
- Sports teams, leagues and their logos
- Company names, logos, slogans and trademarks
- Song lyrics and quotes still under copyright
We don’t publish designs like these, and if you’ve found them free elsewhere, the site offering them almost certainly didn’t have the right to. Selling items made from them is the most common way small craft shops get shut down.
Files you got somewhere else
This licence covers files downloaded from FreeCraftSVG only. If you have a file from another site, that site’s terms apply — not ours. It’s worth keeping a note of where each file came from and what its licence said, especially if you sell anything.
Attribution
Not required. If you want to credit us or link back, we appreciate it, but nothing here depends on it.
